20-21 June 2007, Auditorium 108, Computer Building, Jilin University
Call for Participation
The 2007 Changchun International Workshop on Systems Biology is co-organized by the Colleges of Computer Science and Technology, Basic Medical Science, Life Sciences and the MOE Key Laboratory of Enzymatic Engineering of Jilin University. The overall theme of the workshop is about using genomic, proteomic, bioinformatic and other ¡°omic¡± techniques to tackle complex biological problems such as human cancers and other system-level biology problems. The workshop consists of about ten research talks and an introductory talk about the emerging field of systems biology. For this workshop, we have invited a number of leading senior researchers and a number of young active researchers from both China and USA to talk about a wide range of interesting topics related to systems biology. We expect that the audience of the workshop will come out of the meeting, getting a good sense about what systems biology is, getting exposed to some of the cutting-edge research problems and research strategies at the forefront of this new research field, learning about the challenging experimental and computational problems involved in solving these systems biology problems, and starting to think about how the techniques and investigation strategies presented by the invited speakers could be applied to their own research. This workshop will also provide an excellent opportunity for the local researchers, postdocs and graduate students to establish connections and possibly collaborations with these leading and active researchers.
We fully expect that this international workshop will develop into a long-term meeting series at Jilin University, helping to boost the development of systems biology research in Changchun and beyond, and attracting more researchers getting into the emerging and exciting field of systems biology!
Look forward to seeing you in Changchun in June 2007.
