Welcome to JCSB!
Welcome to the Joint Center for Systems Biology (JSBG, the new name of CSBG) of Jilin University and the University of Georgia, which was established in July 2008. The Center brought together a group of researchers with background in bioinformatics and computational biology, computer science, medical science, life sciences, and pharmacology, respectively, along with some very energetic and bright graduate students and postdocs. What brought this group together is their common interest in developing integrated computational and experimental techniques for (a) identifying serum and urine markers for detection of cancer in early stages, (b) identifying potential drug targets for cancer treatment based on high-throughput screening data of Chinese herb medicine, and (c) studying the associated mechanisms of cancer formation and progression. This group of researchers covers a wide of range of expertise cinluding (i) cancer genetics and biology; (ii) mammalian signaling systems; (iii) metabolic, signaling and regulatory network inference, (iv) microarray and proteomic experiments and data analysis; (v) characterization of alternative splicing and regulation; (vi) protein structure and interaction prediction and modeling; and (vii) genetic variation studies and characterization.
