Horizon 2020 EU Project Forum, organized by School of Computer Science and Technology (CCST), JLU, was held in Computer Building on March 13, 2015. Pro. Adriano Tavares and Joao Monteiro from University of Minho, Portugal, Pro. Fausto Giunchiglia from University of Trento, Italy, Ms. Zhang Yan and other gour from China Mobile and over 30 teachers and students from CCST participated.
Pro. Adriano Tavares and Joao Monteiro were invited to give a lecture entitled Interoperability Everywhere Solution on IoT-ARM on the Internet of Things to innovatively achieve interactive and disruptive applications in the future. Pro. Fausto Giunchiglia’s lecture A Scalable Semantic Schema Deployed under UKC Technology gave an introduction on UKC technology and the application of large data integration in the UKC technology support. Ms. Zhang Yan made a lecture How to Apply IoT and UKC to Mobile Services and discussed the Internet of Things and the ways of UKC application to the mobile terminal services with experts. The forum is conducive to the development of Chinese enterprises and the cutting-edge research and development of related disciplines of CCST, and provides an international platform for university-enterprise cooperation in China, Italy, Portugal and other countries in the long term.
Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.
