Members meet to celebrate the establishment of Jilin Data and Application Center of High-resolution Earth Observation System at Jilin University, of whom are Wu Yanhua, deputy administrator from State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence (SASTIND), Liu Jianqiao, deputy director-general of Department of Science and Technology and Quality, SASTIND, Jiang Youwei, vice provincial governor, Gao Zhiguo, vice provincial secretaty-general, Peng Yonglin, director-general of Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jilin Province, Li Yuanyuan, president of Jilin University (JLU) and Sun Youhong, vice president of JLU. Also representatives from Development and Reform Commission Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jilin Province are on the spot. Gong Yugang, vice director-general of Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jilin Province hosted the ceremony.

Tong Xudong, director of Major and Special Engineering Center, SASTIND and Peng Yonglin sign the agreement of co-establishment and unveil the nameplate for Jilin Data and Application Center of High-resolution Earth Observation System at the ceremony.

Peng offers congratulations on the establishment of Jilin Data and Application Center of High-resolution Earth Observation System at Jilin University. He says HEOS is one of the 16 national major sci-tech special projects, which has strategic significance to support national economy and social development, to ensure national security and to strengthen space infrastructure and service platform.. He also hopes that SASTIND and Major and Special Engineering Center will continue to support the science, technology and industry for national defence at JLU and Jilin Province.

Li Yuanyuan also offers congratulations. He says the establishment of Jilin Data and Application Center of High-resolution Earth Observation System not only marks a new era in data and application of high-resolution in Jilin Province, but also adds vitality to the development of space satellite industry as well as its industry chain in Jilin Province. Li mentions the importance of Jilin Data and Applications Center of HEOS and expresses the determination to make it excellent, comparable to Jilin No.1, a small satellite project, supporting the provincial decision-making under the Big Data background and the development of satellite and its application. He emphasizes that JLU will continue the similar cooperation and make contribution for the revitalization of the Northeastern China and innovation-driven development.

Zhao Wenbo, deputy director of Major and Special Engineering Center, SASTIND makes a speech on HEOS, national major sci-tech special project. She explains the development progress, application and relevant policies of HEOS. Pro. Chen Shengbo from JLU introduces the application of results Jilin Data and Application Center of High-resolution Earth Observation System in the aspects of background and targets.

After the meeting, officials from SASTIND, Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jilin Province and JLU skim the Jilin Provincial Space Information Application Exhibition and visit two key labs of Ministry of Education.
