College of Computer Science and Technology of Jilin University has strength in many research fields in concerned areas. Its research of Intelligent Information Processing, Software Theory and Techniques, Software Engineering, Database and Web Intelligence, Database and Intelligence Network, Knowledge Science and Knowledge Engineering, Computation Intelligence, Intelligent Engineering, Computer Graphics & Digital Media, Image Processing and Virtual Reality, Intelligent Control and Embedded Systems, Computer Spatial Information Processing Technology, Grid Computing and Network Security, Computer Supported Collaboration Work Technology, Mobile Communications Technology and Network System. Telecommunication Software and Protocol Engineering, Wireless Sensor Network and Ambient Intelligent, Biological Recognization Technology.

  In the recent five years, the college undertakes 300 projects supported by the nation and the province, and the funds amount to 80 million. One project of our college wins second prize for National Science and Technology Progress, one project wins special prize of scientific and technological awards at provincial, 8 project wins first prize for Jilin Province Science and Technology Progress, 9 projects win second prizes and 14 projects win third prizes for Science and Technology Progress of the provincial and ministry level: 10 patents, over 1000 academic papers are published, over 130 are embodied in SCI, over 210  in EI, 24 monographs are also published. The college has formed a good trend of increasing in undertaking projects, publications, research awards and so on year by year. Some research results have been successfully transformed and produced great economic and social benefits.

International Exchange

In recent years, over 50 scholars and experts from overseas, such as America, Britain, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong, were invited to visit for lectures and other academic exchanges in our college. Our college established cooperation relationships with the following universities and institutes successively: The Research Institute of Fine Capability Computation of Singapore; Automatization & Computer Aided Engineering HK Chinese University; Research Center of Cooperation, West Virginian University, USA; Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Britain Columbia University, Canada; Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore; Department of Information and Communication Technology, University of Trento, Italy; Department of Computer Science, Stockholm University, Sweden. We signed working agreement with San Diego Supercomputer Center, USA and joined the Pacific Rim Application Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) to cooperate with top level institutes and universities around the Pacific Rim in the fields of biological information and high performance computation, and also signed collaboration agreement for "East Web" project and "Bridging the Gap" project of European Union.

  The college has also signed agreement to establish people training and technology exchange programs with world famous IT companies and research institutes, such as IBM, Microsoft, ORACAL、SUN、HP、Ricoh and BEA, etc.

  The college invited Dr. J. David Puett, the famous biochemist, head of Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, University of Georgia, USA, and Professor David Lorge Parnas, the head of Software Quality Research Lab, Limerick University of Irelands, fellow of Royal Academy Canada, as honorary professor. We invited Dr. Ying Xu, the famous computational biologist, professor of Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, University of Georgia, USA, and outstanding scientist from Computational Biology Institute, Oak Ridge National Laboratory of America; Dr. Leiguang Gong, senior researcher from the Watson Research Center, IBM, USA; Dr. Hongji Yang, professor of School of Computing, De Montfort University, England and Dr. Y. V. Ramana Reddy, professor of Computer Science and Director of the Concurrent Engineering Research Center at West Virginia University as visiting professors.

  In 2007, the college established "Jilin University-University of Georgia" Joint Center for Systems Biology. The College held several international conferences and workshops, including the Changchun International Bioinformatics Workshop in 2005 with more than 200 participants, the Changchun International Workshop on Systems Biology in 2007, the International Workshop on Information Technology (IWIT) in 2009, the 10th International Bioinformatics Workshop in 2012, and the series International Workshop on Cancer Systems Biology in 2011-2013. In 2006, we joined the PRAGMA as the second official members in mainland of China. In 2009, CCST hosted the 19th PRAGMA workshop and 5th FCST conference in Changchun.
