The main research interests of the team includes distributed embedded system, networked embedded systems security, networked control technology and real-time signal transmission, hardware software co-design of embedded systems, fault self-diagnosis and fault tolerance, pervasive computing, intelligent control technology, intelligent detection, multimedia technology, opt-electronic hybrid information processing technology, in-vehicle control systems and information systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The laboratory has carried out 3 project funded by National "863" High-Tech Programs and other programs, 2 NSFC projects and 8 projects funded by the provincial and ministerial departments. The laboratory was awarded with 4 Science and Technology Progress Award at provincial and ministerial levels, published more than 100 papers and 8 textbooks
