《生物信息学入门》课程介绍

《生物信息学入门》是计算机科学与技术专业的专业选修课,它是一门基础性与前沿性知识并重的课程;它是融合分子生物学和计算机科学这两大复杂的学科领域,又融入了统计学、数学、物理和生物化学等多个分支而发展起来的新型交叉学科。

该课程内容主要包括以下方面:1)生物信息学的基本问题和经典算法模型:序列比对,基因预测、蛋白质结构功能预测,基因表达数据分析、基因调控网络和蛋白质相互作用网络分析; 2)前沿领域:系统生物学,二代测序技术算法,癌症基因组学,临床生物信息学和表观遗传学等。

课程将涉及生物学数据的特点,基本生物信息学算法的关键技术,包括已有的相关数据库资源和工具的介绍,重点讲述包括概率统计方法(如HMM、EM算法、Gibbs抽样、Bayesian推断)、优化技术(如动态规划、组合优化)、机器学习和模式识别方法等在生物信息学的应用。旨在为计算机应用技术方向本科生阐明该新型交叉学科的基本概念、理论基础 (分子生物学、计算机科学、数学)、以及具体的生物学研究问题,并增加该领域最新研究前沿成果,同时强调各种算法及其实现的综合运用。

本课程的目的是从生物信息学领域的最基本问题和算法入手,系统而深入地将生物信息学的基本知识与方法传授给学生,使学生打下较为全面和坚实的基础,并通过一些特殊生物信息学问题的实例描述,使得学生能尽快掌握该领域的基本知识和技巧;此外通过加入一些最新研究进展的讲授可以使得学生能接触到这个领域的前沿。

 

The introduction of course ---Introduction to Bioinformatics

 The introduction to bioinformatics is a optional course of  computer science and technology. This class is provided with basic and advanced knowledge.  It is the classical interdisciplinary, which integrate molecular biology、computer science 、statistics, mathematics, physics and biochemistry.

The curriculum of this class mainly includes the following aspects: 1) the fundamental problem and

classical algorithm model of the bioinformatics: sequence alignment, gene prediction,  protein structure prediction function, gene expression data analysis, gene regulatory network and analysis of protein-protein interaction networks; 2) new frontier: systems biology, the second generation sequencing technology algorithm, cancer genomics, clinical bioinformatics and epigenetics, etc.

This course will cover the characteristics of the different biological data and the key technology of basic algorithms of bioinformatics including probability statistics methods (e.g., HMM, EM algorithm, Gibbs sampling, Bayesian inference), optimization techniques, such as dynamic programming, combinatorial optimization, machine learning and pattern recognition methods applied in bioinformatics.  

The purpose of this course is to let the students acquire the most basic problem and the most used algorithm of the system in the field of bioinformatics and make students to build  a more comprehensive understanding and solid foundation for this course. Furthermore, the specific application examples iin the field of  bioinformatics are provided to enable the students to master the basic knowledge and skills in the field as soon as possible.  In addition some Cutting-edge research content of this field are also be introduced.
