The introduction of course --- LAN Technology and Network Engineering
The LAN technology and networking engineering is a required experiment course of Computer Science and Technology. The course, which is a combination of the theory and practice of computer network, provides for the need of practical technical talents in the field of computer network.
Through this course, students will learn:
1. Understanding the structure and function of switches, routers and some other equipments during the process of the LAN networking.
2. Mastering how to configure the switches and routers to meet the needs of LAN networking.
3. Analyzing the fault happened during the process of LAN networking, finding the cause of failure and then dealing with them.
4. Planning and designing a medium-sized LAN network, and configuring it.
The course’s main content includes: switch infrastructure configuration, router interface configuration, router protocol configuration, comprehensive exercises of LAN networking, and so on. The course aims to introduce the key technologies of LAN networking engineering, which involve networking planning, network design, network maintenance and management. The main usage, organization and characteristics are presented systematically. We give a detailed introduction on the operating principle, usage and configuration method for the network devices like switches and routers, as well as common failure diagnosis and elimination ways.
