Description of "RFID Technology Experiment"

RFID technology is developing rapidly in recent years, and is widely used in IOT (The Internet of things). It is a new field of technology which is highly focused on in our country for the realization of "Sensing China, Sensing World" and conforming to the requirements of the information age.

"Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Experiment" is a practice of teaching courses on the basis of "Principles and Applications of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)”, providing students with a set of experiments about RFID technology. By providing real and concrete experiments, this course can give the students specific and perceptual experience about RFID, and it can help the students enhance the understanding the RFID system. Through this course, students can also learn the technology of RFID better and get more knowledge about communication technology. At the same time, this course can make students know more about the application and design of RFID in many areas.

The course contains: the experiment of how the power and frequency affects the reading range of UHF reader; the experiment of analyzing label lock and TID area under Gen2 protocol; the experiment of how antenna envelope and perspective of label affect the reading of UHF reader; the experiment of ISO14443A protocol; the experiment of ISO15693 protocol; the experiment of LF reader; other comprehensive experiments.

This course is compulsory, and will be open in the first semester of the third year, taking 32 hours. Prerequisite courses are: Principles and Applications of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Analog Electronic Technology, Digital Logic Circuits.

The Assessment requirements, assessment methods and criteria of performance assessment are using both the usual test scores and computer experiments.
